Dr. Jennifer Carter
Jennifer Carter, O.D. is a specialist in contact lenses and has experience in every available type of lens, including mutifocal lenses and the new scleral lens design for complex cases. She also has co-managed all types of surgical cases and worked with children who have vision related learning issues. She is a Board Certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.
Dr. Carter received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2002. There, she served as class president and was on the Dean’s List. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Shorter College in Rome, GA.
Dr. Carter’s husband, Josh, is a U.S. History teacher and is a golf and basketball coach at Bremen High School. They have three children, Jamison, Jackson, and Jillian.
Amie Marsh, O.D. has expertise in modern treatments of ocular pathology like glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration. She is a Magna Cum Laude graduate who received her Bachelor of Biology degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She then earned her Master’s Degree in Vision Science and Doctorate from the UAB School of Optometry.
Dr. Marsh completed her Family Practice and Ocular Disease Residency at Northeastern State University College of Optometry in Tallequah, Oklahoma. There, she was able to gain experience in multiple laser treatments and other minor surgical procedures. She specializes in primary eye care providing complete eye care to patients of all ages.
Dr. Marsh and her husband, Jamie, grew up near Gardendale, Alabama. Jamie is a Japan Business Specialist at the Honda Manufacturing Plant in Lincoln, AL where he has been employed for over 11 years. While not at work, they are both very involved at their church, 7 Mile Ministries. Jamie races dirt bikes and is teaching Dr. Marsh how to ride.
Dr. Michael Rothschild
Michael Rothschild, O.D. founded West Georgia Eye Care in April of 1999. He graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN in 1997. He completed his internships in Ocular Disease and in Pediatric Vision. He has also worked as a consulting Optometrist for Tennessee Eye Care in Knoxville where he gained valuable experience in the management of patients with ocular disease and in surgical co-management. Dr. Rothschild then worked for Rome Eye Care, specializing in difficult to fit contact lens patients.
In June 2000, Dr. Rothschild was awarded the Young Optometrist of the Year Award by the Georgia Optometric Association.
Dr. Rothschild regularly presents to other Optometrists on practice management issues. He frequently gives speeches to community groups regarding vision and eye health.
